If you would rather be scared than sit in a club for Halloween, Umi Umi After Dark has you covered. Its Halloween-weekend production, Survive the Night (惊夜), is billed as a horror magic immersive theatre experience, mixing psychological terror with live performance and stage magic.
The premise, according to the ticketing page, puts the audience inside a cult sanctuary where you become part of a ritual involving dark wishes – and consequences nobody asked for. It is staged at Umi Umi Penang, also known as The Chronicle Of Penang, at The Garage on Jalan Penang, and runs about 75 minutes with no intermission. The show is performed in English and Mandarin.
Only two sessions remain: Friday, 30 October at 9.45pm and Saturday, 31 October (Halloween itself) at 9.15pm. Earlier September dates were marked as postponed, so these late-October nights are effectively the main run. Standard seats are RM58 and Elite seats RM68, before booking fees, on CloudJoi.
The organiser recommends it for ages 12 and up and warns that it is not suitable for people who are easily frightened, prone to fainting or sensitive. With a finish at roughly 10.30pm–11pm, it slots neatly before a drink on Jalan Penang or Upper Penang Road if you want to keep the night going. Note that this is a theatre-only ticket; dinner is not mentioned as included.
