Singaporean stand-up Fadzri Rashid brings The Big 40, his new hour-and-a-half comedy special, to Loft 29 on Gat Lebuh Gereja on Saturday, 31 October 2026. The Penang date is one stop on a Malaysian run organised by All Asia Comedy that also takes in Ipoh, Melaka, Johor Bahru and Kuching.
The show is all about hitting midlife: getting older, family pressure, relationships and the creeping worries that come with a new decade. Fadzri's style is quick, observational and very relatable for anyone in their thirties or forties, and the set is performed in English. Note that it runs about 90 minutes without an interval.
At the time of checking, the Penang show was listed as sold out on CloudJoi, so this is mainly worth watching for resale-free returns or added shows – keep an eye on the organiser's page. Admission is for ages 16 and above only due to mature content, and video recording is not allowed.
Loft 29 is a heritage warehouse space just off Weld Quay, a few minutes' walk from the Swettenham Pier side of George Town. Come early for dinner along Beach Street or at the Weld Quay hawker spots, and use Lebuh Pantai or the Prangin/Komtar car parks if you are driving, as street parking near the jetties is tight on weekends. Halloween night means the heritage zone will be busy, so give yourself extra time.
