Tree Bar is the open-air bar at the front of G Hotel Gurney, set under a large old tree right on Persiaran Gurney. It is one of the easiest drop-in spots on Gurney Drive for a sundowner, and its October–December 2026 promotions give a few good reasons to time your visit.
From Tuesday to Sunday, "Strings by Jay" brings a live solo set from 6pm to 7pm – mellow acoustic music that fits the early-evening crowd heading home from work or stopping by before dinner. The bar also screens live sports, so it gets livelier on big match nights.
Drinks deals include Buy 1 Free 1 on selected house pour spirits and wine daily from 12pm to 7pm, which lines up neatly with the live set, and a beer promotion of 10 mugs from RM165 nett for groups. If you are peckish, the "Under The Tree" set meal (appetiser, main and drink) is RM38 nett.
It is best for casual after-work drinks, small groups and visitors staying around Gurney who want something relaxed rather than a club. Go around 5:30pm to grab a table before the music starts, then walk along the Gurney seafront or head to Gurney Drive hawker centre for dinner. On Friday, Saturday and the eve of public holidays the bar stays open until 1am. Tree Bar is also one of the venues for the hotel's New Year's Eve countdown.
