G Hotel Kelawai's rooftop bars, Gravity and Beyond Gravity on Levels 24 and 25, are throwing a New Year's Eve Countdown 2027 party on Thursday, 31 December 2026. It is one of the few Gurney-area countdowns with a genuinely high vantage point, looking out over the seafront and the city for the midnight fireworks.
Entertainment comes from a five-piece live band, WU Band, plus DJ sets through the night, building up to the countdown and fireworks celebration. A ticket costs RM100 nett per person and includes one drink and a party pack, or you can book the 4+1 group package at RM400 nett – effectively five people for the price of four.
Prior reservation is required, and with limited rooftop space this is likely to sell out well before the night. Book through the hotel's Make a Reservation button, by phone on +604 238 0000 or via WhatsApp on 016 223 7088. The exact party start time is not stated on the offer page, so confirm when you reserve.
This one suits groups of friends and couples who want a lively but more contained party than the big public countdowns. Have dinner on Gurney Drive or at Gurney Paragon beforehand, and plan your ride home early – traffic along Persiaran Gurney and Jalan Kelawai is heavy after midnight on New Year's Eve, so an e-hailing booking (or a short walk to a quieter pick-up point) will save you a long wait.
