On Thursday evenings the stretch around Lorong Mahsuri 7 in Bayan Baru fills with pasar malam (夜市) stalls. With the free-industrial-zone offices and the airport close by, it works as a quick after-work dinner stop for people heading home in the south of the island.
The market has a strong Malay food line-up. Guides mention Malay kuih, satay, kerabu rice, yong tau foo (including a tom yum soup version) and a range of desserts, along with street snacks, fresh produce, clothing and accessories. It is a good market for picking up the week's vegetables and fruit as well as dinner.

Tips: parking around Lorong Mahsuri needs patience at peak time – park a little further away and walk in, or come early. Bring cash or an e-wallet.
