Over on the mainland, Sunway Carnival Mall in Seberang Jaya is celebrating “Deepavali Colours of Light” from 23 October to 10 November 2026. The festive programme takes place at the South Atrium, with sessions at 2pm and 4pm on six weekend dates – a handy, free cultural outing for families in Seberang Jaya, Perai, Butterworth and Bukit Mertajam.
The weekend line-up alternates between classical dance and music and hands-on art. Odissi dance with Hindusthani music is on 24 and 31 October; Bharatanatyam dance with Carnatic classical music is on 25 October and 1 November; and on 7 and 8 November the atrium switches to rangoli sand art sessions and henna art drawing. The mall notes the schedule is subject to change without prior notice.
Running alongside are a number of shopper redemptions, including a The Body Shop RM20 cash voucher redemption (23 October–10 November), a Muji fragrance candle redemption (30 October–10 November) and an SK Jewellery gold bar redemption (7–10 November). The mall’s Super Rewards Fiesta for Sunway Super App members runs until 15 November as well.
Tips: aim for the 4pm slot if you want to follow up with an early dinner at the mall, or the 2pm slot if the kids nap later. Henna and rangoli sessions are likely to draw queues, so arrive a little before the start time. Sunway Carnival is in the Seberang Jaya town centre and is a convenient stop on the way to or from the Penang Bridge.
