Entopia, the butterfly and insect nature park in Teluk Bahang, is celebrating its 40th anniversary year with a packed December, timed neatly with the year-end school holidays (5–31 December 2026 for Penang).
Things kick off with a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday 4 December (3pm–4pm, Downtown Entopia). The next day brings the Entopia Discovery Challenge Finale for passholders, and the start of the Mascot Hunt Challenge, a paid walk-in activity running daily from 5 to 31 December, 9am–4pm, starting at Atlas. On Sunday 6 December, a Children's Day Party (1.30pm–3pm at The Sphere) needs registration and is paid.
From 19 to 31 December, a Special Theme Butterfly Exhibit fills the Butterfly Aviary along Dragon Path, and a daily Christmas Workshop (3.30pm–4.30pm, Downtown Entopia, paid walk-in) gives children something festive to make. Discovery Pass holders also get free sessions such as Inside Entopia, Keeper for a Day: Mini Experience and Grow with Entopia on selected dates.
Penang residents can save on Tuesdays with the Penang Kia Day promotion – 30% off walk-in tickets with a Penang MyKad until 31 December 2026 (RM45.50 adult, RM31.50 child or senior after discount, cashless only). Arrive in the morning, when butterflies are most active and before the afternoon crowds, and allow at least half a day.
