Teater Azizah The Musical – Dewan Sri Pinang 2026

Teater Azizah The Musical comes to Dewan Sri Pinang on the Esplanade for two nights, 17 and 18 November 2026, presented by the Penang P. Ramlee Fan Club (Kelab Peminat P. Ramlee Pulau Pinang). The production is written and directed by Al Jafree Md Yusop and asks a simple question that has intrigued fans for decades: who was the real Azizah behind the famous song?

Amalina Arham plays Azizah, P. Radhi plays P. Ramlee and Sofi Jikan plays Karim, with a strong supporting cast that includes Mamak Puteh, Saiful Apek, Datuk Fauziah Nawi and Namron. Expect a nostalgic, emotional evening of romance, period songs and live music, staged in Bahasa Malaysia with English and Malay surtitles, running about 90 minutes without an interval. 17 November is the Malam Perdana (gala night).

Tickets are very affordable for a production with this many familiar faces: zone seats start at RM35, with RM50 and RM100 categories on both nights and a RM188 VIP zone on 18 November only. It is a great outing for parents and grandparents who grew up on P. Ramlee films, as well as younger theatre fans curious about Malaysia's golden age of cinema.

Dewan Sri Pinang is right by the Esplanade (Padang Kota Lama), so you can stroll the seafront before the show and have supper at the Esplanade or Kimberley Street stalls afterwards. Parking around the Esplanade and City Hall fills up on event nights – arrive early.
