Comedy promoter just jokes: returns to George Town on Saturday, 21 November 2026 with something Penang rarely gets – a full stand-up special performed mainly in Tamil (தமிழ்). Headlining is Piravina Ragunathan, an actor and comedian who is one of the region's best-known Tamil comedy acts, performing her latest hour, Kanni Raasi, with surprise supporting acts on the bill.
Expect an informal, high-energy night of observational comedy about family, relationships and growing up in a Malaysian Indian household. The show runs about 90 minutes, seating is free seating, and because it is mainly in Tamil it is best enjoyed by Tamil speakers – think of it as a great night out with your amma, appa, cousins and friends.
Tickets are a flat RM60 per person. The organiser notes that buying directly from its own website, justjokesmy.com, saves you the CloudJoi booking fee, and multi-person bundles are also available. Seats are limited, so book early if you are coming as a group.
COEX sits inside the Hin Bus Depot creative hub on Jalan Timah, a short walk from Komtar and Penang Road. Doors open at 7:45pm – come early to look around the street art and galleries at the depot, and grab dinner at the nearby Jalan Gurdwara or Penang Road eateries. Parking around the depot is limited on weekend nights, so e-hailing or parking at Komtar is the easier option.
