Penang's cue-sports crowd has a new home in Air Itam. Crystal Palace Snooker Club held its grand opening on the evening of 27 October 2026 at All Seasons Place shopping mall in Bandar Baru Ayer Itam, with state Youth, Sports and Health Committee chairman Daniel Gooi Zi Sen officiating.
The club positions itself as a premium venue for both casual players and serious competitors. According to the state's Buletin Mutiara, it is fitted with tables from a recognised brand that supplies equipment to the professional snooker tour. Representatives from Xingpai Billiards, the Malaysian Snooker and Billiards Federation and the Penang Snooker and Billiards Association attended the launch, together with Belleview Group managing director Datuk Seri Sonny Ho and club managing director Yeoh Chong Aik.
The timing is apt: Malaysia hosts the 2027 SEA Games from 18 to 29 September 2027, and snooker and billiards are among the sports slated to be contested in Penang. Gooi said he hoped the club would help develop local talent, not just serve as a place to play.
Table rates, membership options and opening hours had not been published at the time of writing, so call ahead or check the club's social media before going. Being inside a shopping mall, it is an easy add-on to an evening of errands or a meal in Bandar Baru Ayer Itam.
