The Love Penang Run is a feel-good 5.5km run on Sunday 22 November 2026, flagging off at 7am from Stadium Negeri Batu Kawan on the mainland. It is jointly organised by the Penang Sports Council (MSNPP) and Penang Forward Sports Club (PFSC), with support from the state government and the Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP).

The organisers are aiming for 10,000 participants, and the early-bird fee is just RM20, which covers a T-shirt, finisher's medal and goodie bag. To sweeten the deal, two Perodua Axia cars are being given away in a special lucky draw, sponsored by PFSC adviser Datuk Tom Khoo, as reported by The Star.

At the launch, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the aim was for Penangites not just to be active, but also to mix and build relationships – so expect a relaxed, community atmosphere rather than a hard race. At 5.5km it suits first-timers, walkers, families with older kids and anyone wanting an easy Sunday morning outing.

Registration details are being shared on the run's Facebook page. Arrive early to find parking and collect any last-minute items, as a crowd of this size will take time to get through the start pen. Bring a cap and water bottle – even at 7am, Batu Kawan can be warm once the sun is up.
