Straits Quay, the seafront retail marina at Seri Tanjung Pinang, is throwing a Halloween evening called “Haunted Apothecary” on Saturday 31 October 2026, from 4pm to 10pm at Straits Court. The marina describes it as a spellbinding evening of fun, surprises and spooky activities for everyone, and it is pitched squarely at families and groups of friends – costumes strongly encouraged.
On the programme: a bubble performance, a lucky draw with prizes sponsored by Eastern & Oriental Hotel, and the Best Dressed Award, which has three categories – Human, Group and Pet – with prizes worth RM100 for each category winner. Registration for the costume contest is on-site via QR code between 6.30pm and 7.30pm only, so do not be late. There is also a Sticky Puzzle Hunt: register, collect stickers from the correct outlets around the marina and complete the puzzle to claim a mystery gift.
This follows the Pumpkin Decor Battle that Straits Quay held in its Main Lobby on 24 October, so the marina should still be decked out in orange and black. It is a relaxed alternative to the more intense haunted-house attractions elsewhere in Penang, and the pet category makes it a fun outing for dog owners in the Tanjung Bungah condo belt.
Tips: arrive around 5pm to grab a dinner table at one of the waterfront restaurants before the crowd builds, then join the costume registration at 6.30pm. Parking can fill up on a busy Saturday night, so carpooling or ride-hailing is a good idea. Bring a light jacket or fan – it can be breezy or humid by the water.
