If you enjoy digging for old treasures, Island 88 in Tanjung Tokong runs a Sunday Market every week on its Mezzanine Floor from 11am to 6pm. The promotional poster brands it "Collectors' Delights" – vintage finds and timeless treasures – and entry is free.
According to the mall, stalls cover antiques, collectibles, vintage items, handmade crafts and garage finds. The poster shows the sort of thing you can expect: porcelain and ceramics, old cameras, Coca-Cola memorabilia, retro toys and vintage posters. Because sellers are mostly hobbyists and small traders, what is on offer changes every week.
Vendor registration is handled through best2bid, whose contact details appear on the poster, and stalls are limited. That means the market is still growing, so some Sundays may be busier than others.
On the first Sunday of each month, the separate Kita-kita community market also takes over the 3rd floor, so that is the best week to visit if you want more stalls, food and live music in one trip. Island 88 is the former Island Plaza, a short drive from Gurney Drive and Straits Quay.
