Beer lovers get their own pairing night at the Eastern & Oriental Hotel this festive season. On Thursday 10 December 2026 from 7pm, Planters Lounge in the hotel's Victory Annexe hosts a Malaysian craft beer dinner: six savoury courses, each paired with a locally brewed craft beer.
According to the E&O's November–December programme, the idea is bold local flavours matched with brews "full of character". A structured pairing menu is a good way to taste several styles side by side without committing to full pints of each. The breweries and the menu had not been announced at the time of writing.
The dinner is priced at RM338 nett per person. Planters Lounge looks out to sea from the hotel's Victory Annexe, so try to arrive a little before 7pm to catch the view. Book through the E&O's reservations line on +604 222 2000 or fbcentral.resv@eohotels.com; seats are likely to be limited.
Who is it for? Craft beer fans, groups of friends planning a pre-Christmas makan session and anyone who wants a less formal alternative to a wine dinner. December is a busy month in George Town, so reserve early, dress smart casual and leave the car at home.
