Looking for something to do with the kids on the mainland this weekend? IKEA Malaysia's Sorted Lah! Open House runs every weekend from 10 October to 1 November 2026, and IKEA Batu Kawan has a full programme of family activities for its final weekend.
The main draw is The Sorting Escape, a race against the clock through four hands-on challenges inspired by everyday life at home. Teams of two to six collect keys as they go, and fast teams land on a leaderboard with storage prizes worth up to RM800 up for grabs. Allow about 30 minutes. At Batu Kawan it runs on Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November, 12pm to 10pm, and slots must be booked in advance online.
Younger children can settle into Little Designers (every Saturday and Sunday, 10am–10pm), where they draw, colour and create a room of their own. Say Hej! is a meet-and-greet with IKEA characters for photos at 12pm, 2pm, 6pm and 8pm on Saturdays and Sundays. For parents, The Listening Lounge has vinyl records to browse and play (weekends, 10am–10pm), and The Great Book Club sets up a curated bookshelf and reading corner on Saturday 31 October from 12pm to 2pm.
IKEA does not list an entry fee for the activities. Make a day of it: book an afternoon Sorting Escape slot, let the kids draw while you browse, then eat at the IKEA restaurant before heading home.
