Nervous about speaking up in meetings, or preparing for a big presentation? The Bukit Gelugor Toastmasters Club is running a free Leadership Communication Workshop on Saturday, 31 October 2026, at Kompleks Belia dan Sukan Pulau Pinang on Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah in Gelugor.
The three-hour session runs from 2pm to 5pm, with doors opening at 1pm. It focuses on building speaking ability and leadership confidence, built around the idea that communication is the most important skill any leader can have. The featured speaker is Chin Bin, an ISO 9001 consultant with plenty of experience in Toastmasters speech contests at several levels, so expect practical pointers drawn from real competition experience.
Toastmasters workshops tend to be hands-on and friendly rather than lecture-style, which makes this a low-pressure way to see whether joining a club suits you. The event is free, open to all ages and has free parking, but you need to register through the link on the Eventbrite listing. The listing was showing as almost full when we checked, so do not leave it to the last minute.
It is a good fit for students, fresh graduates, young executives and anyone in the Bayan Lepas–Gelugor corridor who wants to sharpen their presentation skills. Bring a notebook, and be ready to stand up and say a few words – that is how Toastmasters works.
