Burger & Lobster, the London restaurant brand built around two things only, has opened in George Town at No. 59 Lebuh Kimberley. It is the brand's first outlet in northern Malaysia and its third in the country after Suria KLCC and Resorts World Genting, and it sits in a shophouse more than a century old inside the UNESCO heritage zone.
The menu is short by design. The Classic Whole Lobster (RM229) comes grilled or steamed with lemon garlic butter, the Beast Burger (RM95) stacks a 6oz beef patty with lobster meat, brie, truffle and tarragon mayo, and the B&L Combo (RM195) pairs a Mayfair Burger with half a lobster, fries and salad. There is a lobster roll too, and the Penang outlet adds a local twist in its Lobster Laksa with tofu puffs, ginger flower and coconut broth. For a big celebration, a 2.4kg jumbo lobster is listed at RM1,320.
Inside, expect exposed brick, burgundy leather banquettes, terrazzo floors, globe chandeliers, batik touches and an open bar, plus a private dining room for up to 16 guests – handy for birthday dinners or company makan.
This is a splurge rather than an everyday meal, best for date nights, visiting friends or anyone craving a proper lobster fix without leaving the island. Opening hours and reservation details were not confirmed in the sources we checked, so contact the restaurant via its official page before going.
