The Penang Dietetic & Foodservice Day Fun Run is a 5km community run held on Sunday 1 November 2026, starting at 7am from Padang Polo in George Town. It is organised by the Penang Dietetics and Food Service department (Jabatan Dietetik & Sajian Pulau Pinang), tying in with its annual push to get the public thinking about healthy eating and active living.
Registration (RM45, including a customisable T-shirt and finisher's medal) closed on 20 September 2026, and race packs were collected from 23 to 25 October at the department's office at Hospital Pulau Pinang. If you signed up, you should already have your bib – check your email if not.
For everyone else, it is still worth knowing about. Padang Polo is a popular open field for weekend exercise, and a morning event like this tends to bring a cheerful crowd of healthcare workers, families and running groups. Cheering runners at the finish costs nothing, and it is a good reminder to put next year's edition on your calendar early.
Get there before 6.45am if you want to see the flag-off. Bring water, a hat and sunblock, and plan for a hawker breakfast nearby afterwards – maybe one of the lighter options, in the spirit of the day.
